Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the PSI Telecommunications Gross Return, PSI Industrials Gross Return and PSI Utilities Gross Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 1.04% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.46 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) added 0.98% or 0.01 points to end at 0.93 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was up 0.50% or 0.08 points to 16.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which fell 4.36% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.40 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 3.42% or 0.29 points to end at 8.20 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) down 1.89% or 0.07 points to 3.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 13 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Shares in Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) fell to 3-year lows; down 3.42% or 0.29 to 8.20.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.35% or 1.01 to $76.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.54% or 1.10 to hit $72.57 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 5.05 to trade at $2,751.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 103.39.
