Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the PSI Consumer Services Gross Return, PSI Financials Gross Return and PSI Industrials Gross Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 0.93% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.25 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 0.72% or 0.12 points to end at 16.84 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was up 0.21% or 0.01 points to 2.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which fell 1.18% or 0.22 points to trade at 18.45 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.84% or 0.07 points to end at 8.27 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) down 0.76% or 0.03 points to 3.41.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 15 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.61% or 0.44 to $72.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.80% or 0.55 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.17% or 31.54 to trade at $2,717.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 106.18.
