Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the PSI Utilities Gross Return, PSI Consumer Services Gross Return and PSI Basic Materials Gross Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 2.14% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.47 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.73% or 0.05 points to end at 3.06 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 1.47% or 0.05 points to 3.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 2.69% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.96 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 1.31% or 0.04 points to end at 3.16 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) down 1.25% or 0.18 points to 14.22.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 14 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.14% or 0.01 to 0.47.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.22% or 0.17 to $76.68 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.16% or 0.12 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 3.84 to trade at $2,650.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 108.14.
