Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the PSI Consumer Goods Gross Return, PSI Basic Materials Gross Return and PSI Industrials Gross Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 1.90% or 0.33 points to trade at 17.74 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) added 1.01% or 0.04 points to end at 3.50 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.45% or 0.02 points to 4.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 3.33% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.44 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.30% or 0.14 points to end at 10.65 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) down 1.24% or 0.05 points to 3.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 14 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.04% or 0.03 to $73.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $69.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.00% or 26.40 to trade at $2,657.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 106.77.
