Portugal shares higher at close of trade; PSI up 1.02%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the PSI Technology Gross Return, PSI Financials Gross Return and PSI Consumer Services Gross Return sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.02%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 1.91% or 0.37 points to trade at 19.44 at the close. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 1.79% or 0.09 points to end at 4.90 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was up 1.64% or 0.23 points to 14.23 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which fell 0.42% or 0.01 points to trade at 2.37 in late trade. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) declined 0.12% or 0.01 points to end at 8.30 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 7.18.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 20 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.90% or 1.51 to $78.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.89% or 1.43 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 5.95 to trade at $2,543.75 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 101.79.
