Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the PSI Consumer Services Gross Return, PSI Industrials Gross Return and PSI Utilities Gross Return sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 2.34% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.38 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 2.24% or 0.40 points to end at 18.27 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was up 1.73% or 0.09 points to 5.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which fell 2.30% or 0.34 points to trade at 14.42 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 0.06% or 0.00 points to end at 0.46 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 2.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 20 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.98% or 0.71 to $73.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.00% or 0.69 to hit $69.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.50 to trade at $2,751.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP fell 0.71% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 104.09.
