Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the PSI Utilities Gross Return, PSI Basic Materials Gross Return and PSI Financials Gross Return sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 3.08% or 0.34 points to trade at 11.37 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 2.16% or 0.07 points to end at 3.50 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was up 1.92% or 0.05 points to 2.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which fell 2.42% or 0.44 points to trade at 17.77 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.49% or 0.04 points to end at 8.17 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 14.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 16 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.52% or 1.10 to $71.46 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.75% or 1.20 to hit $67.50 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 5.40 to trade at $2,567.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.53.
