Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the PSI Utilities Gross Return, PSI Financials Gross Return and PSI Industrials Gross Return sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.20% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 1.08% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.42 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) added 0.81% or 0.03 points to end at 3.72 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 0.67% or 0.06 points to 9.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which fell 1.53% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.55 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.48% or 0.07 points to end at 14.40 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) down 0.48% or 0.08 points to 16.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 14 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged to 5-year highs; unchanged 1.08% or 0.00 to 0.42.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.74% or 0.57 to $77.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.95% or 0.70 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.00 to trade at $2,533.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 101.62.
