Poland shares lower at close of trade; WIG30 down 1.48%

Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Media , Basic Materials and Developers sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.48%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA: CCCP ), which rose 4.61% or 10.00 points to trade at 227.00 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA: PGN ) added 1.37% or 0.08 points to end at 5.94 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA: CPS ) was up 0.62% or 0.14 points to 22.60 in late trade.

Biggest losers included PKP Cargo (WA: PKPP ), which lost 5.43% or 2.70 points to trade at 47.00 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA: KGH ) declined 4.81% or 4.45 points to end at 88.14 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) shed 4.55% or 0.090 points to 1.890.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 146 and 176 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.40% or 0.28 to $70.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.29% or 0.23 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.75% or 9.00 to trade at $1197.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was up 0.41% to 4.3085, while USD/PLN rose 0.87% to 3.7253.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 95.48.
