Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the WIG IT, WIG Energy and WIG Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 2.75% or 1.57 points to trade at 58.60 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.12% or 0.55 points to end at 26.55 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 1.88% or 0.38 points to 20.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which fell 3.04% or 0.35 points to trade at 11.15 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.65% or 0.26 points to end at 9.38 and Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP) down 2.49% or 0.50 points to 19.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 295 to 199 and 114 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.84% or 0.59 to $70.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.75% or 0.55 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 20.85 to trade at $2,669.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.30, while USD/PLN rose 0.45% to 3.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 101.34.
