Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the WIG Energy, WIG Developers and WIG Telecom sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 17.03% or 25.90 points to trade at 178.00 at the close. Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP) added 5.55% or 1.01 points to end at 19.20 and Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) was up 5.03% or 17.00 points to 355.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Text SA (WA:TXTP), which fell 2.95% or 2.10 points to trade at 69.20 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 1.67% or 0.34 points to end at 20.00 and BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP) down 1.65% or 10.00 points to 594.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 258 to 233 and 118 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Shares in CCC SA (WA:CCCP) rose to 5-year highs; up 17.03% or 25.90 to 178.00. Shares in Text SA (WA:TXTP) fell to 3-year lows; down 2.95% or 2.10 to 69.20.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.44% or 1.03 to $70.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.05% or 0.78 to hit $73.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 6.60 to trade at $2,683.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.34% to 4.27, while USD/PLN rose 0.54% to 3.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 100.42.
