Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the WIG Energy, WIG Oil & Gas and WIG Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.54% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 3.01% or 0.23 points to trade at 7.95 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 2.91% or 0.16 points to end at 5.73 and Allegro (WA:ALEP) was up 2.18% or 0.72 points to 33.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Text SA (WA:TXTP), which fell 2.04% or 1.10 points to trade at 52.70 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 1.58% or 3.70 points to end at 230.60 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) down 1.32% or 1.50 points to 112.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 259 to 246 and 120 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.91% or 0.16 to 5.73.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.11% or 0.07 to $62.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $66.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.30% or 42.81 to trade at $3,336.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.27, while USD/PLN fell 0.52% to 3.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 99.35.
