Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the WIG Energy, WIG Developers and WIG Telecom sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Synektik (WA:SNTP), which rose 4.72% or 10.00 points to trade at 222.00 at the close. Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) added 2.70% or 12.00 points to end at 457.20 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.23% or 2.60 points to 119.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included 11BIT (WA:11B), which fell 5.69% or 12.00 points to trade at 199.00 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.87% or 0.71 points to end at 24.00 and BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP) down 2.12% or 13.00 points to 600.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 285 to 244 and 91 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) rose to all time highs; rising 2.23% or 2.60 to 119.40.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $69.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $73.01 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.38% or 42.11 to trade at $3,094.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.05% to 4.18, while USD/PLN fell 0.33% to 3.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 103.97.
