Philippines shares higher at close of trade; PSEi Composite up 0.88% – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Property , Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.88%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Corp (PS: AC ), which rose 6.73% or 63.00 points to trade at 999.00 at the close. Manila Electric Co (PS: MER ) added 3.36% or 11.80 points to end at 363.00 and International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS: ICT ) was up 3.33% or 2.900 points to 89.950 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bank of the Philippine Islands (PS: BPI ), which lost 3.56% or 3.30 points to trade at 89.50 in late trade. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS: DMC ) declined 2.74% or 0.320 points to end at 11.380 and First Gen Corp (PS: FGEN ) shed 2.53% or 0.40 points to 15.40.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 91 and 58 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.20 to $1185.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.37% or 0.24 to hit $65.70 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.35 to trade at $71.78 a barrel.

CNY/PHP was up 0.41% to 7.7670, while USD/PHP fell 0.03% to 53.305.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 96.23.
