Peru shares lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 0.55% – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors , Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.55% to hit a new 3-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM: SID ), which rose 5.97% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.710 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM: AREi ) added 5.56% or 0.040 points to end at 0.760 and Relapasa (LM: REL ) was up 3.90% or 0.008 points to 0.213 in late trade.

Biggest losers included PPX Mining Corp (LM: PPX ), which lost 10.96% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) declined 6.76% or 0.050 points to end at 0.690 and Buenaventura (LM: BVN ) shed 6.36% or 0.940 points to 13.850.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.83% or 2.61 to $70.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $76.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.10 to trade at $1260.80 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.20% to 3.2675, while EUR/PEN fell 0.43% to 3.8115.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 94.36.
