Peru shares lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 0.06%

Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors , Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.06% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM: VOL_pb ), which rose 5.33% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.790 at the close. Relapasa (LM: REL ) added 2.44% or 0.005 points to end at 0.210 and Unacem (LM: CEL ) was up 1.72% or 0.050 points to 2.950 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM: DNT ), which lost 14.29% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.0540 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) declined 3.08% or 0.020 points to end at 0.630 and Minsur (LM: MINi ) shed 2.11% or 0.030 points to 1.390.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 6 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.26% or 0.19 to $74.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $78.17 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.60 to trade at $1258.10 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.15% to 3.2904, while EUR/PEN rose 0.37% to 3.8395.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 94.19.
