Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.13%

Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining , Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.13%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM: CEL ), which rose 3.92% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.650 at the close. Panoro (LM: PML ) added 3.57% or 0.005 points to end at 0.145 and Minsur (LM: MINi ) was up 2.70% or 0.040 points to 1.520 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM: GRA ), which lost 5.21% or 0.250 points to trade at 4.550 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM: BVN ) declined 2.80% or 0.320 points to end at 11.090 and Sider (LM: SID ) shed 2.78% or 0.010 points to 0.350.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 12 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.17% or 0.08 to $47.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.89% or 22.90 to trade at $1188.30 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.66% to 3.4407, while EUR/PEN fell 0.12% to 3.6302.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 101.75.
