Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.07% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining , Agriculture and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.07%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM: BVN ), which rose 5.39% or 0.570 points to trade at 11.150 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) added 5.38% or 0.024 points to end at 0.470 and Volcan Minera (LM: VOL_pb ) was up 1.70% or 0.010 points to 0.600 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Casa Grande (LM: CSG ), which lost 5.08% or 0.340 points to trade at 6.360 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM: GRA ) declined 4.00% or 0.200 points to end at 4.800 and Unacem (LM: CEL ) shed 3.70% or 0.100 points to 2.600.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.28% or 1.15 to $51.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.44% or 18.00 to trade at $1265.00 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2955, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7539.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 93.59.
