Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.26% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials , Agriculture and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.26% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minsur (LM: MINi ), which rose 3.30% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.880 at the close. Candente Copper (LM: DNT ) added 2.42% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1270 and Credicorp (LM: BAP ) was up 2.32% or 4.95 points to 218.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bolsa de Valores de Lima SAA (LM: BVL ), which lost 2.90% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.350 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) declined 2.44% or 0.030 points to end at 1.200 and Panoro (LM: PML ) shed 1.83% or 0.006 points to 0.322.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.42% or 1.46 to $61.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.04% or 1.36 to hit $67.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1314.40 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.01% to 3.2315, while EUR/PEN fell 0.34% to 3.8876.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 91.91.
