Norway shares lower at close of trade; Oslo OBX down 1.23%

Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare Equipment & Services , Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX lost 1.23% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Grieg Seafood (OL: GSFO ), which rose 3.25% or 3.30 points to trade at 104.70 at the close. SalMar ASA (OL: SALM ) added 2.60% or 11.60 points to end at 458.40 and Orkla ASA (OL: ORK ) was up 0.66% or 0.46 points to 70.46 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL: PGS ), which lost 5.28% or 0.73 points to trade at 12.99 in late trade. REC Silicon ASA (OL: REC ) declined 5.26% or 0.03 points to end at 0.60 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL: NWC ) shed 4.86% or 10.05 points to 196.95.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 148 to 41 and 23 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.65% or 0.85 to $50.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.66% or 0.40 to hit $59.88 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 5.90 to trade at $1247.30 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.47% to 9.7870, while USD/NOK rose 0.15% to 8.6291.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.632.
