Norway shares lower at close of trade; Oslo OBX down 0.70%

Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy , Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 0.70%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL: PGS ), which rose 2.60% or 0.52 points to trade at 20.46 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL: NWC ) added 2.37% or 2.95 points to end at 127.65 and Grieg Seafood (OL: GSFO ) was up 2.06% or 2.20 points to 108.90 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Orkla ASA (OL: ORK ), which lost 2.85% or 1.98 points to trade at 67.56 in late trade. Aker BP ASA (OL: AKERBP ) declined 2.55% or 7.40 points to end at 282.80 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL: NHY ) shed 2.09% or 0.82 points to 38.38.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 83 and 34 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.76% or 0.41 to $54.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.05% or 0.65 to hit $62.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.75 to trade at $1316.45 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.22% to 9.7022, while USD/NOK rose 0.51% to 8.5264.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 96.000.
