Norway shares higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 2.03%

Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Energy , Diversified Financials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.03%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Aker BP ASA (OL: AKERBP ), which rose 7.31% or 17.80 points to trade at 257.00 at the close. Aker Solutions OL (OL: AKSOL ) added 6.82% or 2.95 points to end at 46.20 and DNO International ASA (OL: DNO ) was up 6.24% or 0.90 points to 15.33 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Telenor ASA (OL: TEL ), which lost 1.17% or 1.9 points to trade at 164.5 in late trade. SalMar ASA (OL: SALM ) declined 1.07% or 5.20 points to end at 479.40 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL: GJFS ) gained 0.22% or 0.3 points to 134.4.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 78 and 15 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.81% or 1.43 to $52.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.44% or 1.45 to hit $60.91 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.11% or 13.60 to trade at $1239.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was down 0.35% to 9.6960, while USD/NOK fell 0.72% to 8.5343.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.810.
