Norway shares higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 1.60%

Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy , Banking and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.60% to hit a new all time high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Aker BP ASA (OL: AKERBP ), which rose 4.18% or 11.80 points to trade at 293.20 at the close. DNO International ASA (OL: DNO ) added 4.09% or 0.72 points to end at 18.34 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL: TGS ) was up 3.54% or 11.8 points to 345.4 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL: GOGLT ), which lost 1.38% or 1.05 points to trade at 74.72 in late trade. SalMar ASA (OL: SALM ) declined 0.79% or 3.40 points to end at 425.20 and REC Silicon ASA (OL: REC ) 0.45% or 0.00 points to 0.78.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 78 and 32 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.43% or 0.30 to $69.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.94% or 0.69 to hit $74.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.70 to trade at $1220.40 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was down 0.35% to 9.5037, while USD/NOK fell 0.70% to 8.1963.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 94.96.
