Stock jumps 5% after signing agreement with Marriott to open 7 new luxury hotels in India & Sri Lanka
Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the OSE Health Care Equipment & Service, OSE Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and OSE Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.64% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO), which rose 3.31% or 6.40 points to trade at 199.50 at the close. Var Energi ASA (OL:VAR) added 3.19% or 1.10 points to end at 35.53 and Aker BP ASA (OL:AKRBP) was up 3.00% or 8.40 points to 288.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DnB ASA (OL:DNB), which fell 3.48% or 9.80 points to trade at 272.10 in late trade. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGL) declined 1.66% or 1.30 points to end at 76.80 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NAS) down 1.21% or 0.16 points to 12.67.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 146 to 124 and 25 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
Shares in Aker BP ASA (OL:AKRBP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.00% or 8.40 to 288.30.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.27% or 1.67 to $75.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.26% or 1.73 to hit $78.43 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 26.18 to trade at $3,381.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.90% to 11.55, while USD/NOK rose 0.99% to 10.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 98.60.
