Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 0.60%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco , Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.60%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS: PZ ), which rose 7.17% or 0.90 points to trade at 13.45 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS: DIAMONB ) added 4.24% or 0.050 points to end at 1.240 and Dangsugar (LAGOS: DANGSUG ) was up 4.32% or 0.60 points to 14.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Wemabank (LAGOS: WEMABAN ), which lost 3.45% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.560 in late trade. Nig Brew (LAGOS: NB ) declined 2.73% or 2.50 points to end at 89.00 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS: UNILEVE ) shed 2.17% or 1.00 points to 45.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 44 to 41 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.25% or 0.94 to $76.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.34% or 1.14 to hit $85.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.60 to trade at $1202.40 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was down 0.10% to 419.390, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 363.000.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.40.
