Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 0.48%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking , Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.48% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS: NESTLE ), which rose 9.59% or 130.00 points to trade at 1400.00 at the close. Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS: DANGFLOUR ) added 7.01% or 0.55 points to end at 7.25 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS: PZ ) was up 3.70% or 0.50 points to 14.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Dangsugar (LAGOS: DANGSUG ), which lost 10.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 14.40 in late trade. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS: IBTC ) declined 9.00% or 4.05 points to end at 40.95 and Uacn Prop (LAGOS: UACN ) shed 7.27% or 0.80 points to 10.20.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 24 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.87% or 1.94 to $69.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.17% or 1.68 to hit $79.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1200.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was up 0.07% to 420.810, while USD/NGN rose 0.33% to 363.210.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.22.
