Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 0.17%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco , Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.17%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Zenithbank (LAGOS: ZENITHB ), which rose 2.75% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.40 at the close. Guiness Nig (LAGOS: GUINNES ) added 1.22% or 0.95 points to end at 79.00 and Total Nig (LAGOS: TOTAL ) was up 1.09% or 2.00 points to 185.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Wapco (LAGOS: WAPCO ), which lost 7.83% or 1.80 points to trade at 21.20 in late trade. Unilever Nig (LAGOS: UNILEVE ) declined 7.44% or 3.35 points to end at 41.65 and Uacn Prop (LAGOS: UACN ) shed 3.74% or 0.40 points to 10.30.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 33 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.29% or 1.75 to $74.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.48% or 1.28 to hit $85.01 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1202.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was down 0.47% to 417.430, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 363.000.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 95.53.
