Nigeria shares higher at close of trade; NSE 30 up 1.27%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking , Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 1.27%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nig Brew (LAGOS: NB ), which rose 9.99% or 8.40 points to trade at 92.50 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS: DIAMONB ) added 8.40% or 0.100 points to end at 1.290 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS: GUARANT ) was up 5.46% or 1.80 points to 34.75 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Unilever Nig (LAGOS: UNILEVE ), which lost 8.12% or 3.80 points to trade at 45.40 in late trade. Wapco (LAGOS: WAPCO ) declined 6.76% or 1.40 points to end at 19.30 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS: DANGFLOUR ) shed 5.00% or 0.40 points to 7.20.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 46 to 40 and 16 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.28% or 0.19 to $68.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.27% or 0.21 to hit $77.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.62% or 7.50 to trade at $1200.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was down 0.54% to 420.670, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 363.000.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.92.
