Nigeria shares higher at close of trade; NSE 30 up 0.74%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking , Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.74%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS: DIAMONB ), which rose 7.44% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.300 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS: PZ ) added 7.28% or 0.95 points to end at 14.35 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS: FIDELIT ) was up 5.45% or 0.090 points to 1.740 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Skye Bank (LAGOS: SKYEBAN ), which lost 5.45% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.510 in late trade. Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS: DANGFLOUR ) declined 3.68% or 0.30 points to end at 7.95 and Nig Brew (LAGOS: NB ) shed 0.50% or 0.50 points to 100.00.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 36 and 16 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.65% or 0.45 to $68.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.33% or 0.25 to hit $76.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1214.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was up 0.90% to 423.470, while USD/NGN rose 0.20% to 362.060.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 94.44.
