Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the AEX Basic Material, AEX Consumer Good and AEX Consumer Service sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which rose 1.54% or 0.48 points to trade at 31.29 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.85% or 0.27 points to end at 32.00 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) was up 0.63% or 9.00 points to 1,437.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 4.66% or 1.05 points to trade at 21.46 in late trade. IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) declined 1.90% or 2.70 points to end at 139.75 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) down 1.88% or 1.82 points to 95.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 50 to 44 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.27% or 0.93 to $74.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.79% or 0.60 to hit $76.53 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 13.21 to trade at $2,655.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 108.76.
