Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the AEX Basic Material, AEX Technology and AEX Real Estate Investment Trusts sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which rose 2.27% or 0.60 points to trade at 26.98 at the close. Prosus (AS:PRX) added 1.01% or 0.39 points to end at 38.88 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 0.91% or 0.40 points to 44.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which fell 2.41% or 2.85 points to trade at 115.40 in late trade. IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) declined 2.38% or 3.60 points to end at 147.75 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) down 2.03% or 32.20 points to 1,553.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 49 to 48 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.24% or 0.17 to $70.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.28% or 0.21 to hit $74.50 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 9.36 to trade at $2,886.06 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 107.84.
