Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Financials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 9.67% or 0.479 points to trade at 5.430 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 4.73% or 2.61 points to end at 57.76 and Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) was up 4.44% or 0.24 points to 5.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 3.12% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.10 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.93% or 0.42 points to end at 13.91 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) shed 1.51% or 0.052 points to 3.395.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 83 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.24% to 28.21.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.43% or 0.13 to $30.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.47% or 0.46 to hit $30.50 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.51% or 5.50 to trade at $1090.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0851, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.7509.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 99.12.
