Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the AEX Oil & Gas, AEX Technology and AEX Health Care sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.55% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 3.55% or 24.20 points to trade at 706.70 at the close. Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 3.21% or 0.84 points to end at 27.03 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) was up 3.10% or 47.00 points to 1,563.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which fell 1.88% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.55 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 1.42% or 1.42 points to end at 98.38 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) down 1.25% or 0.53 points to 41.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 66 to 26 and 16 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.17% or 0.12 to $72.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.32% or 0.24 to hit $75.85 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.61% or 44.86 to trade at $2,838.36 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 107.77.
