Netherlands shares higher at close of trade; AEX up 1.20%
Credit: © Reuters. – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.20%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS: AD ), which rose 7.02% or 1.430 points to trade at 21.800 at the close. Altice NV (AS: ATCA ) added 6.72% or 0.15 points to end at 2.32 and Galapagos NV (AS: GLPG ) was up 3.19% or 2.940 points to 95.180 in late trade.

Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ), which lost 0.67% or 0.15 points to trade at 22.24 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS: ASRNL ) declined 0.20% or 0.08 points to end at 40.26 and Gemalto (AS: GTO ) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 50.50.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 10.24% to 14.60.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.51% or 0.32 to $61.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $72.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 5.60 to trade at $1229.40 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1463, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8717.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 95.75.
