Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the AEX Consumer Service, AEX Telecommunications and AEX Basic Material sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 3.08% or 32.40 points to trade at 1,083.60 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.61% or 20.90 points to end at 820.50 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 1.74% or 2.10 points to 122.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which fell 1.66% or 0.36 points to trade at 21.34 in late trade. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 1.29% or 0.74 points to end at 56.68 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) down 0.84% or 0.20 points to 23.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 60 to 41 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
Shares in Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.66% or 0.36 to 21.34.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.46% or 1.14 to $77.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 1.28 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.31% or 30.85 to trade at $2,384.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
