Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the AEX Oil & Gas, AEX Real Estate Investment Trusts and AEX Consumer Good sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 2.97% or 1.18 points to trade at 40.90 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.95% or 3.25 points to end at 113.50 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 2.20% or 12.80 points to 594.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which fell 1.64% or 2.00 points to trade at 120.00 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.25% or 0.39 points to end at 30.86 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) down 0.97% or 0.43 points to 43.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 49 to 47 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
Shares in Prosus (AS:PRX) rose to 3-year highs; rising 2.97% or 1.18 to 40.90.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.33% or 0.23 to $70.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.29% or 0.21 to hit $73.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 18.20 to trade at $2,672.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.26.
