Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the AEX Basic Material, AEX Consumer Good and AEX Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.67% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which rose 4.01% or 2.22 points to trade at 57.52 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 2.54% or 35.00 points to end at 1,413.40 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was up 2.00% or 0.77 points to 39.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN), which fell 0.95% or 0.06 points to trade at 6.04 in late trade. Exor NV (AS:EXOR) declined 0.85% or 0.80 points to end at 92.85 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) down 0.75% or 0.33 points to 43.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 51 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.29% or 0.20 to $67.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.35% or 0.25 to hit $71.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 18.61 to trade at $2,662.39 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 106.47.
