Morocco shares higher at close of trade; Moroccan All Shares up 3.35%

Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities , Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 3.35% to hit a new 5-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Snep (CS: SNP ), which rose 9.97% or 13.15 points to trade at 145.10 at the close. Lydec (CS: LYD ) added 9.32% or 55.00 points to end at 645.00 and Saham Assurance (CS: SAH ) was up 7.50% or 90 points to 1290 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Oulmes (CS: OULM ), which lost 3.21% or 45 points to trade at 1355 in late trade. Atlanta (CS: ATL ) declined 3.10% or 1.60 points to end at 50.00 and Residences Dar Saada SA (CS: RDS ) shed 2.66% or 5.50 points to 201.50.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.15% or 0.08 to $53.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.33% or 0.18 to hit $55.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.35% or 3.95 to trade at $1134.65 a troy ounce.

EUR/MAD was up 0.03% to 10.6340, while USD/MAD fell 0.10% to 10.1755.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 103.00.
