Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 2.11% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which rose 1.56% or 0.70 points to trade at 45.65 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) added 0.66% or 2.27 points to end at 344.00 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) was up 0.60% or 0.19 points to 31.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which fell 9.34% or 1.17 points to trade at 11.36 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) declined 5.05% or 19.09 points to end at 359.10 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) down 4.81% or 0.94 points to 18.61.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 181 to 65 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.71% or 20.80 to $2,893.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.67% or 1.12 to hit $65.92 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $69.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 20.36, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 22.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 103.90.
