Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which rose 1.61% or 5.75 points to trade at 363.00 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) added 1.15% or 0.24 points to end at 21.09 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) was up 0.73% or 0.10 points to 13.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which fell 7.53% or 17.67 points to trade at 217.01 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) declined 3.87% or 6.55 points to end at 162.49 and Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX) down 3.57% or 2.33 points to 63.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 137 to 105 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.41% or 81.65 to $3,310.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.81% or 2.21 to hit $60.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.65% or 2.23 to trade at $63.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 19.53, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 21.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.06% at 100.49.
