Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 1.10%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials , Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.10% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX: TLVACPO ), which rose 1.72% or 1.16 points to trade at 68.48 at the close. BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX: RA ) added 0.91% or 1.07 points to end at 118.17 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX: NEMAKA ) was up 0.86% or 0.12 points to 14.09 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: GMEXICOB ), which lost 4.69% or 2.710 points to trade at 55.130 in late trade. VOLARIS A (MX: VOLARA ) declined 3.08% or 0.35 points to end at 11.03 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX: GAPB ) shed 2.91% or 5.42 points to 180.67.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 169 to 137 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1314.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.43% or 0.30 to hit $70.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.68 to trade at $75.55 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 1.04% to 19.4585, while EUR/MXN rose 0.70% to 23.2045.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 92.61.
