Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.60%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare , Materials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.60%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX: GMXT ), which rose 4.40% or 1.190 points to trade at 28.240 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX: LALAB ) added 3.31% or 0.77 points to end at 24.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX: OMAB ) was up 3.13% or 3.390 points to 111.850 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX: TLVACPO ), which lost 4.72% or 2.28 points to trade at 46.05 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX: GENTERA ) declined 3.24% or 0.450 points to end at 13.440 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: ALFAA ) shed 3.02% or 0.740 points to 23.800.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 186 to 111 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 1.85 to $1284.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.96% or 1.06 to hit $52.98 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.01% or 1.26 to trade at $61.48 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 19.1692, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.7779.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 95.972.
