Trump slaps 30% tariffs on EU, Mexico
Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which rose 3.28% or 16.12 points to trade at 507.00 at the close. Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) added 1.70% or 3.70 points to end at 221.94 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was up 1.61% or 0.15 points to 9.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO), which fell 3.51% or 1.73 points to trade at 47.62 in late trade. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) declined 2.36% or 4.82 points to end at 199.42 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) down 2.34% or 0.99 points to 41.26.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 118 to 102 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.28% or 16.12 to 507.00.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.00% or 0.10 to $3,346.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.25% or 0.81 to hit $65.39 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.71 to trade at $67.18 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 19.04, while EUR/MXN rose 0.02% to 21.75.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 98.99.
