Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.42% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 5.13% or 6.21 points to trade at 127.29 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) added 3.43% or 0.89 points to end at 26.80 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) was up 2.64% or 4.22 points to 164.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 3.48% or 0.95 points to trade at 26.38 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) declined 3.29% or 5.63 points to end at 165.58 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) down 2.87% or 3.10 points to 104.99.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 136 to 74 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Shares in Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.48% or 0.95 to 26.38. Shares in Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.43% or 0.89 to 26.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.67% or 46.70 to $2,754.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.80% or 1.92 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $74.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.13% to 20.04, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 103.81.
