Smallcap stock hits 10% lower circuit after inclusion in Additional Surveillance Measures (ASM)
Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which rose 3.49% or 0.28 points to trade at 8.31 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) added 2.82% or 0.25 points to end at 9.10 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was up 1.16% or 2.80 points to 243.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which fell 7.49% or 0.95 points to trade at 11.73 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) declined 3.72% or 7.72 points to end at 200.03 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) down 3.51% or 0.81 points to 22.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 124 to 93 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Shares in Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.49% or 0.95 to 11.73.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.04% or 1.30 to $3,384.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 8.88% or 6.56 to hit $67.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 8.51% or 6.42 to trade at $69.06 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.13% to 19.13, while EUR/MXN rose 0.15% to 22.15.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 97.97.
