Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, S&P/BMV Telecommunication Services and S&P/BMV Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 5.70% or 1.02 points to trade at 18.81 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) added 3.02% or 4.73 points to end at 162.53 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) was up 2.92% or 0.70 points to 24.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which fell 9.77% or 102.27 points to trade at 944.95 in late trade. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) declined 4.33% or 1.98 points to end at 43.31 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) down 2.79% or 0.82 points to 28.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 147 to 84 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.77% or 102.27 to 944.95.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.37% or 32.20 to $2,385.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.35% or 1.84 to hit $76.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.86 to trade at $80.51 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 18.47, while EUR/MXN rose 0.14% to 20.04.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.07.
