Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which rose 4.79% or 8.98 points to trade at 196.33 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) added 2.78% or 0.90 points to end at 33.28 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) was up 2.73% or 1.20 points to 45.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which fell 12.27% or 1.96 points to trade at 14.02 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 2.09% or 0.28 points to end at 13.11 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) down 1.82% or 0.68 points to 36.67.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 121 to 118 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.49% or 14.54 to $2,967.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $70.88 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.33 to trade at $74.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.36% to 20.48, while EUR/MXN rose 0.43% to 21.44.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.63.
