Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 5.80% or 0.79 points to trade at 14.42 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) added 4.61% or 0.73 points to end at 16.58 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) was up 3.87% or 1.92 points to 51.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which fell 6.63% or 3.88 points to trade at 54.61 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) declined 2.26% or 9.18 points to end at 397.22 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) down 2.15% or 12.61 points to 575.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 130 to 115 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.70% or 50.21 to $2,895.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.87% or 0.62 to hit $70.67 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.34 to trade at $74.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.50% to 20.30, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 21.31.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 106.66.
