Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P/BMV Telecommunication Services, S&P/BMV Financials and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which rose 3.74% or 2.06 points to trade at 57.14 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) added 3.50% or 5.42 points to end at 160.10 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) was up 3.02% or 1.00 points to 34.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which fell 3.39% or 5.68 points to trade at 161.65 in late trade. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) declined 2.27% or 0.26 points to end at 11.20 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) down 1.85% or 0.21 points to 11.16.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 118 to 93 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.24% or 55.05 to $2,401.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.17% or 2.58 to hit $78.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.81% or 2.39 to trade at $82.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.56% to 18.05, while EUR/MXN rose 0.33% to 19.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.08.
