Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 5.79% or 7.03 points to trade at 128.50 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) added 5.61% or 2.43 points to end at 45.71 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) was up 4.63% or 7.53 points to 170.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 3.08% or 0.66 points to trade at 20.75 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) declined 2.91% or 1.19 points to end at 39.74 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) down 2.66% or 0.79 points to 28.91.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 164 to 71 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Shares in Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) fell to all time lows; down 3.08% or 0.66 to 20.75. Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.91% or 1.19 to 39.74.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.38% or 37.11 to $2,719.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 3.57% or 2.73 to hit $79.10 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 3.15% or 2.52 to trade at $82.44 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.20% to 20.46, while EUR/MXN fell 0.33% to 21.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 108.97.
